Free printable word search puzzles
Print word search puzzles for free — no sign-up, no software: pick a difficulty, choose how many grids you want, and hit print. Each puzzle comes out on its own page, followed by its solution on the next — play in pencil, then check your answers.
Number of grids
Each grid is followed by its solution. For a PDF, choose “Save as PDF” as the destination.
Our grids hide a little extra: once every word is circled, the leftover letters spell a mystery word, written out in full on the solution page. Three difficulty levels let you choose how the words hide — across and down only, with diagonals, or in all eight directions including backwards.
The layout is built for paper: letters big enough to circle in pen, pure black and white to go easy on ink, and the site address in the footer so you can come back for a fresh grid — a new puzzle is published every day.
Save your word search puzzles as a PDF
Every batch you print can become a word search PDF in two clicks: in the print window, open the destination (printer) menu and choose “Save as PDF”. The file contains your puzzles followed by their solutions — ready to keep, email to a colleague, share with a class, or reprint whenever you need a fresh copy.
PDF is the right format when the paper comes later: teachers build a folder of grids for the term, activity coordinators prepare a stack for game day, and grandparents get their puzzles by email. Nothing to install, no account — the PDF is produced by your own browser.

Frequently asked questions
How do I print word search puzzles for free?
Pick a difficulty and a number of grids, then click “Print”. Your browser's print window opens: print right away, or choose “Save as PDF”. No sign-up, nothing to install.
Are the solutions included?
Yes. Each grid is followed by a solution page with every word circled and the mystery word written out in full. You can hand out the puzzles and check them later.
Can I save the puzzles as a PDF?
Yes. In the print window, choose “Save as PDF” as the destination instead of a printer. The file contains the blank grids and their solutions, ready to keep, send or reprint.
What do the difficulty levels mean?
The level doesn't change how many words there are — it changes the directions they hide in. At level 1, words only read across and down. Level 2 adds diagonals. At level 3, words can also run backwards, in all eight directions.
What is the mystery word?
Once every word in the list is circled, the letters that remain unused spell one final hidden word, reading left to right, top to bottom. It's written out on the solution page.
How many puzzles can I print at once?
Up to four per batch, each with its solution. Run it as many times as you like: puzzles are drawn at random from everything we've published, and a new one comes out every day.
