Easy word search puzzles
Play today's puzzleEasy puzzles (levels 1 and 2) hide their words across, down and diagonally, always in reading direction. It's the perfect level to discover word searches, play with the family or unwind for a few minutes — and once every word is circled, the leftover letters spell the mystery word.
Level 1 grids only hide words across and down: that's the one to print for beginners, classrooms and activity time.

What makes a word search easy?
The difficulty of a word search has little to do with the words themselves — it's all about the directions they can run in. In our easy grids, every word reads forward: left to right and top to bottom at level 1, down the diagonals too at level 2. No backwards words, no traps: once your eye catches the first letters, the rest of the word follows naturally.
Great for kids, classrooms and unhurried breaks
Easy word searches are the classic first puzzle: young readers practice spotting letter patterns and build vocabulary without frustration, and the mystery word gives everyone a reason to finish the grid. They work just as well as a coffee-break warm-up, or for anyone who prefers a relaxed hunt over a stopwatch race.
Every grid here is free, plays online with no sign-up — and prints beautifully with its solution if you'd rather play with a pen.
